In Squidoo you try to increase lens ranking overall. My lampbargains lens is like #5000 or so. That’s good for two weeks. Today I went to squidoo and did a search for my tags and found that I am ranked #2 or #3. This is great. This means that anyone searching for a lens using my keywords will find my lens on the first page. I do get hits to my site from Squidoo.
I’ve had a lens at Squidoo a little over 3 weeks and already when I type “Lamp Bargains” in Google, my Squidoo site is #1. It has surpassed my actual site which is #2. Now most people won’t search “Lamp Bargains” but it shows that my theory is correct. Also when I check my links, Squidoo and this blog are already listed. Just for good ol Google… here’s my site again www.LampBargains.com
I have started a “Group” at Squidoo call the “Top Ten list” group. We’re about featuring lenses with great top ten lists. If you would like to create a lens featuring your top ten products in your niche we would be happy to have you join. Simply put together a list of your top ten products and the reason I should buy them, go to squidoo, search “top ten” in the groups search (we should be number 1 or 2). On the group page to the right simply add your lens. I’ll get an email, check it out, and then approve it. This is just a little something different to market your products.
I just started my Squidoo lens tonight at www.squidoo.com/lampbargains/ It’s very easy to do, it’s free, and it’s another way to get traffic. I personally think you’ll soon be hearing about people making a lot of money with Squidoo. How? Well you simply write a “lens” for any subject under the sky and they place ads on your lens. As people click on the Google ads you get 50% and you can even have it given to charity! I’m gonna research some subjects and write a bunch of lenses and see how it goes. It’s pretty fun and easy to do to.
